Same Place, Different Space
West Seattle Kitchen
The old kitchen in this Tudor style home was the first item on the homeowners’ list of projects to undergo. The kitchen’s dark and dreary sentiment was synonymous with Seattle weather but the owners hoped to capitalize on the limited sunlight and lighten the kitchen with a bright and cheerful color scheme. Without moving any walls, the kitchen was designed for functionality and productivity. More storage was added under the new built-in bench eating area and the cabinets were designed for better organization and accessibility. While maintaining the original footprint, the homeowners were able to lighten the space with bright yellow walls and white cabinets, which contrasted beautifully with the dark soapstone countertops.
