The owners of this Kirkland home wanted to update their kitchen but longed for a design that would lend a unique edge to their floor plan while adding functionality with a modern twist. The original “U” shaped layout was closed off from the adjoining dining room, so by eliminating the peninsula, the hanging cabinets, and removing the dropped ceiling to reveal a vaulted ceiling, the space expanded into an inviting, open space. The homeowners are now entertaining, preparing, studying and enjoying their updated new living space and couldn’t be happier with the unique transformation.
