Although the existing kitchen was in good condition, it lacked the originality and uniqueness the homeowners craved for their main gathering area. With the generic cabinets and cliché kitchen layout, the homeowners hoped their new dream kitchen would be the complete opposite. By staying in the same footprint and removing the peninsula, we were able to design a new island with the distinct characteristics the homeowners had longed for. The cabinets were redesigned to suit their storage needs and a built in bench was constructed under the repair of their old skywall. The hardwoods were refinished to accentuate the rich tones of the wood and the new range hood works as a focal point for the new space.
