By introducing our new dba, Seattle Green Build ®, we are stating our firm's commitment to what we feel is the vitally important movement toward sustainability and the dedication that we as a company have toward sustainability in all our practices.

Within the construction industry, Building Green has become a driving force in the way we build our homes today and in the future. Seattle Design Build LLC is among the innovators of this Green movement.

  • As members of the Master Builders Association Built Green Program, and because of our commitment to remodeling green, we were invited to serve on the panel revamping the criteria for what constitutes a green remodel. We are proud to have been selected for this honor which reflects the industry's recognition of our long term desire to make a difference.

By developing a Built Green Vertical Team within our company, we have cultivated a focused method of distributing information. The members of the team are immersed in green specific education and then become the “go-to” person for their particular discipline. The vertical team consists of designer, remodeling specialist and lead carpenter. Recognized as the specialists within the company, each of them are constantly sharing their knowledge with all members of the SDB staff.

  • We have an on going commitment to attend cutting edge events, conferences, and product trade shows in both Washington and throughout the United States. The commitment to Building Green has always existed in the heart of the company as one of SDB owners was deeply immersed in passive solar energy and attended the first ever Built Green Certified program in 1999 when it was only a fledgling idea. After the company made a commitment to send a team of SDB employees to the 2007 West Coast Green Conference in San Francisco, the passion infused the entire company and, since that time, we have not jumped off the green bandwagon.
     
  • To remodel “Green” is more of a challenge than to Build Green from the ground up, as remodelers are faced with the disposal of existing materials. SDB practices Building Green philosophies on every work site by recycling discarded and reusable materials and constantly encouraging our clients to take further steps toward ensuring a completed green project. We take great pride in having won the first-ever “Green Remodeling” Award issued by the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW).
